The artistic worlds of the artist couple Miles Rice and Kerstin Rice merge into an exciting symbiosis. While Kerstin Rice works with experimental printmaking and conceptual depth, Miles Rice brings his expertise in woodworking and sculpture to the partnership – resulting in expansive works in which traditional printing techniques meet three-dimensional forms.
Also on view are sculptures from the “Phoenix of Design” project, which offers a contemporary reflection on the cultural and arts-and-crafts history of Magdeburg (the former School of Applied Arts and Crafts, today Forum Gestaltung) through the combination of craft techniques such as woodworking, Kintsugi and sculpture.
The joint exhibition invites visitors to experience the harmonious balance between surface and space, graphic art and object in a new way.
Kerstin Rice and Miles Rice live and work at Rittergut Schönberg in the north of the Altmark region in Germany. Through their collaboration they create works in which printmaking and sculpture merge into expansive installations.
